AURN Presents “Dapper Freedom Men” – an exploration of the words of historic figures through their style of dress. We continue with the second installment of our trilogy. Not knowing his birthdate, Frederick Douglass chose Valentine Day, February 14th – with his wife Ann Murray-Douglass. The abolishonist, orator, writer and statesman was instrumental in moving the needle towrds freedom for Black people and did so through dissemination of his image and biography. He was THE most photographed person of any color in the 1800s – a rarity in a time where photographs were not as ubiquitous as today. Hear him in his own words.
